QEC Functions at SBBDU:

  1. The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is headed by the Director, reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor. He corresponds with all regulatory bodies.
  2. Promoting the public confidence that the quality and standards for the award of degrees are followed.
  3. Review the quality standards by monitoring the quality of teaching and learning in each subject area.
  4. Review academic affiliations with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of the offered programs.
  5. To define clear and explicit standards as points of reference for reviews to be carried out. It helps understand employees what to expect.
  6. To develop qualification framework by setting out the attributes and abilities that can be expected from the holder of a qualification, i.e. Bachelors, Bachelor with Honors, Master’s, M. Phi;, and Doctoral.
  7. To develop program specifications. These are the standard set of information clarifying what knowledge, understanding, skills and other attributes a student should have developed on successfully completing a specific program.
  8. To develop quality assurance processes and methods of evaluation.
  9. To ensure that the University’s quality assurance procedures are designed such that they match the arrangements in place nationally.
  10. QEC is responsible to develop procedures for the following:
    1. Approval of new program
    2. Annual monitoring and evaluation including program monitoring, faculty and student monitoring.
    3. Departmental review
    4. Student feedback
    5. Employer feedback
    6. Quality Assurance of Master’s, M. Phil. And Ph. D degree programs.
    7. Subject review
    8. Institutional assessment
    9. Program specifications
    10. Qualification framework
